Thirty Three Electrical was founded by Kat Proudman in 2024. They were inspired to create the company after volunteering at Emmaus North Staffs and realising that with the cost of living crisis, people want new items, but are finding it increasingly hard to afford them at RRP.

At the same time, they watched a video by Adam Conover about the fact that the majority of Amazon returned stock ends up in landfill. From this, they got the idea to take returned electrical items, PAT test them for safety and to check their working condition, and sell them on to the local community for a discount.

As for the company logo, they wanted to promote both the recycling of products (the green 3) along with neurodivergence (the rainbow backwards 3). The name is because it relates to them personally.
